What We Believe
Our Beliefs & Values
Of the many teachings in the Scriptures, we believe the following statements represent the primary historic Christian doctrines.
The Word Of God
We believe the Holy Scriptures, Old and New Testaments, are the verbally-inspired Word of God. They are the final authority of faith and life. Inerrant and infallible in the original writings, they were once for all delivered to the saints. (Proverb 30:5; Matthew 5:18; II Timothy 3:16, 17; II Pet. 1:20,21)
Trinity
We believe there is only one living and true God (John 17:3) revealed in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19); the same in substance, equal in power and glory. (Genesis 1:26; Deut. 6:4; John 1:1, 18)
The Virgin Birth
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and thus incarnated in true God and true Man. (Matthew 1:18-23; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-3, 14; Micah 5:2; Isaiah 9:6, 7)
Depravity Of Mankind
We believe that mankind was created in the image and after the likeness of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also that spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature which is enmity against God, and are sinners in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis 1:26; Psalm 51:5; Roman 3:10, 23; 5:12; Roman 3:19)
Cross Work Of Christ and Present Work Of Christ
We believe that the Cross work of Jesus Christ is the only escape from the condemnation of sin; that the Lord Jesus, who knew no sin, suffered and died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a substitutionary and only acceptable sacrifice; that He was buried and rose again from the dead, according to the Scriptures; and that He ascended into Heaven where He now sits to the Right Hand of the Throne of God, The Father Almighty, as our High Priest, Mediator and Advocate. (I Cor. 15;3,4; I Pet. 1:3-5; I Peter 2:24; I John 2:1, Matthew 16:21; Mark 16:19; John 21:14; Acts 1:3; I Timothy 2:5; Hebrew 8:1)
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. “
– II Timothy 3:16-17
Salvation
We believe the Holy Scriptures, Old and New Testaments, are the verbally-inspired Word of God. They are the final authority of faith and life. Inerrant and infallible in the original writings, they were once for all delivered to the saints. (Proverb 30:5; Matthew 5:18; II Timothy 3:16, 17; II Pet. 1:20,21)
The Church
We believe the church is an elect company of believers baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body. Its mission is to glorify and witness concerning its God and Savior, Jesus Christ; to preach the gospel among all nations; and to edify itself in love until Christ raptures His Church. The one and only Head of the church is the Lord Jesus Christ working through the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19, 20; Acts 1:6-8; I Cor. 12:12,13; Eph. 4:4,6,11-16)
Sanctification
We believe that, as the new birth is by faith and through the agency of the Holy Spirit and by the Word of God, so is the process of growing in grace. All those who have been saved have been sanctified throughout the whole man positional in Christ; yet in this life some remnants or corruption in every part remains, so that a continual war between the flesh and the Spirit rages. Therefore, the believer is also being sanctified, so that his perfect position is transformed into true holiness and practice. This once-for-all act continues throughout life and reaches finality when believers receive their glorified bodies. Notwithstanding, the saved man will be manifested toward the world with the fruit of the Spirit. (John 17:17, 19; I Cor. 6:11; II Cor. 3:18; 7:1; Gal. 5:17, 22-23; Eph. 4:13, 5;27; Phil. 2:12-13; I Thess. 3:12,13; 4:3,7; 5:23; I Pet. 1:2; 2:2; II Pet. 3:18; I John 1:8-10)
Christ’s Return
We believe in “that blessed hope,” the personal, bodily, imminent, pre-tribulation and pre-millennial return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. That He will return, coming in the air, before the seven-year tribulation period, to rapture (catch away) His church and that He will come visibly with His church at the close of the tribulation to judge the living nations and set up His Kingdom on the earth. (Matt. 25:31-46; Mark 13:32-37; Acts 1:11; I Thess. 2:19; I Thess. 3:13; I Thess. 4:13-18; II Thess. 1:7-10; Titus 2:13; James 5:8; II Thess. 1:1,2)
Eternal State
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the unsaved, the everlasting conscious blessedness in Heaven of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment in Hell of the lost. (Daniel 12:23; Matt. 25:46; John 5:28,29; Acts 24:15; II Thess. 1:8,9; Rev. 20:10,15)
Satan
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the unsaved, the everlasting conscious blessedness in Heaven of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment in Hell of the lost. (Daniel 12:23; Matt. 25:46; John 5:28,29; Acts 24:15; II Thess. 1:8,9; Rev. 20:10,15)
The Ordinance Of Baptism
We believe that baptism is for believers. It is to be by total immersion in water, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as a testimony of the believers’ identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. (Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:41; 8:38; Rom. 6:3, 4; Col. 2:12)
The Ordinance of The Lord’s Supper
We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a means of commemorating the death of our Savior and is to be a bond and pledge of our communion with Him and with each other. (Matt. 26:26-28; I Cor. 10:16, 17, 21; 11:23-26)
